"Werthiem (n.d.) states that the concept of organizational management and change can be traced back to the building of the pyramids (sec. 1). During this time it was essential for the armies of men that took part in the making of these structures to have an organizational plan, leadership and the ability for change when the initial plans required adjustment (Werthiem, n.d., sec. 1). Organizational change was also evident during the Protestant Reformation when religious organizations began to emerge and wanted to detach themselves from the traditional churches that had been the foundation of faith for so long (Werthiem, n.d., sec. 1). Yet, the largest evidence that organizations began compiling strategies for change occurred during the industrial revolution (Werthiem, n.d., sec. 1). This was because the world was inundated with massive populations in urban areas that made demands upon society as never before. These demands affected government, community, business and educational organizations, which found that they could no longer operate as they had in the past."
