In this article, the writer discusses that a sound and progressive society is one in which all individuals, regardless of their color, creed and race have equal rights to education, health, power, expression and equal opportunity of growth and progress. The writer explains that this means that all individuals are respected and protected against all kinds of violence, prejudice, bias, racism, etc., especially the rights of minorities or marginalized groups. Further, the writer argues that this is a society where majority rules with respect for minority rights. The writer concludes that the idea of majority rule with respect for minority rights does look attractive if examined in theory and only cursorily in practical examples. However, a deeper examination of the concept's implementations reveals a society that is far from a utopian society.

"This helps the society to grow as all individuals are equal and there is no hatred or prejudice practiced and professed against any group of people. This is a society where different people are allowed to practice their different beliefs. Different ideas co-exist with tolerance practiced towards each other. This is the basis of co-existence of multi-racial progressive communities working towards a common good. Common Good is achieved by the suppression of individual liberty for collective good or safety. People are given freedom to the point it does not encroach upon someone else's rights or till the point that it does not threaten the safety of their fellow beings. It also means that the majority, through the process of democracy, wins and rules but with full consideration given to the rights of the minority groups."
