China is a tempting market for many American companies because of the size of the population and because of the relatively minor competition there at this time. Eve Stacey has been given the task of determining when to enter China and how well NutraSweet might do in that country. China is a difficult market for this product, which is usually sold as an alternative to sugar because it is healthier and has fewer calories, but China consumers relatively little sugar in the first place. The product has been available in China for a few years, but it has been sold in drugstores for those in need of a reduce calorie product and is not known widely among the populace. "
