Abstract
This paper contains a review of the book, along with a brief recommendation. "Why America Slept" is a chilling account of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. It explains that the book discusses why the terrorist attacks happened and how America could have prevented them.

From the Paper
"Some of the book is difficult to read because it seems that such bungling went on between American agencies that nothing concrete could get done. The CIA and the FBI both had information on terrorist groups operating in and outside the U.S., but were so busy trying to gain power themselves, they fought against each other and refused to share information. Posner notes that this internal feuding only helped the terrorists, many of whom slipped into the country while security was low, and agencies were not passing information about suspected terrorists between each other (Posner 23). This is not only distressing, it is difficult to read, and know that childish feuding between agencies was allowed to continue, and that is was a threat to national security."

Abstract
This research paper focuses on the 27-foot fishing boat from the first century BC found in the Sea of Galilee that is believed to be connected to the historical Jesus. The paper relates that the topic is linked to the ideas surrounding the historical Jesus, his life, activities, involvements, relationships, and view. The paper further relates that the information it contains also describes the artifact and looks at how and where it was discovered. The writer concludes that without the Sea of Galilee, used as an allegory in many of the parables of Jesus, these stories might have been much more difficult for the disciples to understand however, the references to the Sea of Galilee and specifically to the fishermen's trade lends comprehension to many of the sayings of Jesus, that otherwise would have been more difficult for the people of that time to discern and comprehend.

From the Paper
"In many ways, the Sea of Galilee is centric to the life and story of the historical Jesus as he called several of his disciples from the shorelines of the Sea of Galilee and they followed him without question. The Sea of Galilee was an important part of the economy in this area of the world during the time that Jesus walked upon the earth and fishing was an important livelihood as well as being important insofar as the food market in this area of the world. Jesus used the symbolism of the fish in many of his teachings, parables and sermons. In fact, the Christian symbol known as the Ichthus is the symbol of a fish, and it is know that during time of Christian persecution following the life, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus that when two Christians would meet they would identify themselves one to the other by one tracing half of the fish symbol in the sand with his foot, and the other, if a Christian, would then trace the other half of the symbol in the sand with his foot thus completing the symbolic 'Ichthus' and both would know that they were in the company of another Christian and that it was safe to talk about Jesus and his ministry."

From the Paper
"As observed, the condition in the Japanese market is favourable for Boots. Its joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation was a sensible move as Mitsubishi Corporation provided Boots the essential local market knowledge (Wakabayashi, 2001) and credible influence (Japanese Face of Boots). Mitsubishi Corporation, being one of Japan's largest and oldest trading houses (Paliwoda and Thomas, 1998) had the clout to help Boots secure strategic locations in the posh Tokyo districts. Furthermore, Mitsubishi has the government and legal contacts that Boots requires to import its products. (Japanese Face of Boots)"

Mental Illness, 2002.
An insight into the history, diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
1,804 words (approx. 7.2 pages), 7 sources, MLA, £ 40.95
» Click here to show/hide summary

Abstract
This paper examines the history of mental illness from the earliest colonial times, when it was believed that mental illness was caused by the baby being born under a full moon or having slept in moonlight to the medical prognoses and classification of different disorders today. It discusses the attitudes and diagnoses of mental illness over the past couple of centuries and the development of treatment. It evaluates whether genetics or physical environmental damage are the sole cause of mental illness and how researchers now believe that nature and nurture work together and that causes of mental illness will never be boiled down to one gene or a set of genes.

From the Paper
"The last decade of the 20th century brought an explosion of knowledge regarding the causes of mental illness. Improvements in ability to make images of the brain as well as genetic research coming out of the Human Genome Project are forcing mental health experts to take a fresh look at the causes of mental illness. This new information also has treatment implications. Where previously, all mental illness was viewed as faulty emotional and psychological development, evidence is now emerging that many forms of mental illness may have a strong genetic component. People with the genes for a mental illness might or might not develop it depending on what happened to them in their lives, so in this model, mental illness still is somewhat environmentally based, but the physical evidence for mental illness is mounting."
